ADHD & Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy in Upper Arlington and Columbus, Ohio
As a therapist with ADHD herself, I get where you’re coming from.
Living with ADHD or being neurodivergent can come with unique challenges, particularly in environments that may not be designed with different ways of thinking, processing, communicating, or experiencing the world in mind. You may struggle with organization, time management, focus, motivation, emotional regulation, or feeling overwhelmed by everyday demands. You may also have experienced frustration, criticism, or the sense that you need to work harder to meet expectations that seem easier for others. Therapy can provide a space to better understand and accept how your brain works, reduce shame and self-criticism, and develop strategies that work with your strengths rather than against them. We can also explore identity, relationships, self-advocacy, and how to create a life that feels more authentic and sustainable for you.
You May Be Doing Well on the Outside and Still Struggling
Therapy can help you understand and work with your neurodivergence without defining yourself by perceived shortcomings or trying to fit yourself into someone else’s expectations. Together, we can explore how ADHD or other aspects of neurodivergence affect your attention, motivation, emotional experiences, relationships, work, and sense of self, while also identifying the strengths and values that are important to you. We’ll help you develop greater flexibility around difficult thoughts and emotions, reduce self-criticism, and build practical strategies that support the life you want to live. Together, we’ll create space to explore identity, authenticity, belonging, and what it means to build a meaningful life on your own terms. Rather than focusing solely on changing yourself, our work can center on understanding yourself more fully and finding ways to live that feel sustainable, purposeful, and aligned with who you are.
